West Meets East

LP (Item 577267) Angel, 1966 — Condition: Very Good+
Temporarily Out Of Stock

LP, Vinyl record album

✈
❔

Mostly "east" – as the violin of the famous solist comes into play with the sitar of Ravi Shankar, plus tabla and tanpura! The vibe's a bit like some of the best John Mayer albums, although less jazz.  © 1996-2021, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Tan label stereo pressing. Cover looks nice, save for some light staining on the back opening.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

The first of several volumes of Shona Mbira music released by Nonesuch in the US during the 70s, sought after by musicologists and African music fans for a while, as it's gone in and out of print. This Is Sinatra!
Capitol, Early 50s. Near Mint-
This Is Sinatra indeed – a wonderful collection of singles, and a near-lost album to the shifting sands of time! The record wasn't one of Frank's "album concepts" for Capitol, and has since been dismantled in the catalog – but for many in the 50s, this was one of THE Sinatra ... LP, Vinyl record album

Lalo Schifrin

Black Widow
CTI, 1976. Very Good
Funky 70s work from film score maestro Lalo Schifrin – served up with a bit of a disco twist, and plenty of the electric jazz funk elements that were showing up in his soundtracks at the time!
