Sweetheart Of The Rodeo

LP (Item 575938) Columbia, 1968 — Condition: Very Good+
One of the group's greatest moments – thanks in part to sweet Cali production from Gary Usher, and vocals from Gram Parsons! The vibe here is really a mix of the Byrds and Flying Burrito Brothers – and titles include "You Ain't Going Nowhere", "Hickory Wind", "Life In Prison", "Blue Canadian Rockies", "Pretty Boy Floyd", "The Christian Life", "You're Still On My Mind", and "Nothing Was Delivered".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(70s pressing. Cover has faint ring wear and a few rounded corners.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Columbia, 1969. Near Mint-
A great one from The Byrds – who deliver an iconic mix of breezy country rock and folk harmonies, over songs that range from laidback to soaring! The Byrds seemed to always be in a state of flux, line-up wise, and that actually seems to bring out a pretty great mix of styles on their best ... LP, Vinyl record album

A pivotal album for Bob Dylan – a record that continues the Nashville experiment of Blonde On Blonde, but which compresses it a bit more – almost like he's re-folding the electric energy back into the darkness of the spare sound of Times They Are A-Changin! Bob Dylan

Sure, the young Bob Dylan might look a bit hokey on the cover – but he's already out there way ahead of the pack – and starting to blow away any of the less interesting pop folkies who'd been crowding into the Greenwich Village scene of the early 60s! There's a difference here right ... LP, Vinyl record album
