Still Crazy After All These Years

LP (Item 575431) Columbia, 1975 — Condition: Very Good+
We've gotta admit, this record sounds a lot better with the passing of time than we might have expected – thanks in part to some totally sweet Fender Rhodes, used often, and in all the best ways to pepper the tunes! Barry Beckett and Bob James handle the keys – and there's even some gospel touches at times, thanks to help from the Jessy Dixon Singers and Chicago Community Choir. And Paul Simon's songwriting is mostly mature – and even on the hit "50 Ways", the drums from Steve Gadd more than make up for any clunk!  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Includes the printed inner sleeve. Cover has light wear, bumped corner, some light stained spots in front, and some price sticker remnants in back.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

The first-ever solo album from Paul Simon – and a set that really showed the world he had a heck of a lot to offer on his own! Columbia, Mid 1960s. Very Good
Pre-Steppenwolf work by John Kay – a raw and rocking group with plenty of blues in the mix! Santana (1971)
Columbia, 1971. Near Mint- Gatefold
One of the most searing, soaring albums ever from Santana – a set that takes all the power of the previous two records, and packs it into one tight little set! Bruce Springsteen

Nebraska
Columbia, 1982. Very Good
The starkest, sparest ever by Bruce Springsteen – sans accompaniment for the most part, having famously opted to release the haunting guitar, voice and harmonica demos as the actual album – and it's devastatingly strong to this day! The hallmark facet is that it's a largely solo ... LP, Vinyl record album

Nice Day For Something
Columbia, 1973. Near Mint-
A great Columbia Records set from the mighty Lee Michaels – still going strong after an amazing run of albums on A&M, but with a vibe that's maybe a bit more underground overall! Lee's still a hell of a songwriter, but he's also got an approach that's maybe slightly muted – almost ... LP, Vinyl record album

The first Chicago album – presented here in all its jazzy brilliance! One of the greatest albums ever from Paul Revere & The Raiders – a set that really had the group stepping forward from their roots as a Northwest party act, into some headier territory of their own! Trust
Columbia, 1981. Very Good+
Essential old school Elvis Costello from the peak years of the Attractions era!
