An excellent reissue of the Wild Style soundtrack! Besides the original 12 tracks (including "Wild Style Theme Rap 1" by Grandmaster Caz & Chris Stein, "Basketball Throwdown" by Cold Crush Bros & The Fantastic Four, "Stoop Rap" by Double Trouble & Rodney Cee, "Rammellzee & Shock Dell at the Amphitheatre" with Grandmixer DST, "Wild Style Subway Rap 2" by Grand Master Caz & Chris Stein, and "Cold Crush Brothers At The Dixie") the CD reissue includes "Subway Theme" with DJ Grand Wizard Theodore, "Cuckoo Clocking", "Down By Law" by Fab Five Freddy, and "Wild Style Subway Rap 2" by Grand Master Caz & Chris Stein. Loads of older scratching and mixing, and some very nice old school freestyling!  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

J Dilla (Jay Dee)

Donuts
Stones Throw, 2005. Used
A massive batch of instrumentals from J Dilla – one that strongly transcends the wordless hip hop genre – and perhaps his rawest, and most adventurous listening experience yet! The loopy soul samples, rich synth/electronic shine, and thumping bass and soul beats that Dilla largely made ... CD

Paid In Full, indeed. Eric B & Rakim's seminal album still pays off in so many ways, and it was such a vital link between the party rockin' style of the old school and the terse, hard-hitting beats and rhymes of what was then the new school, we can't even come up with the words for the praise ... Nice mid 90s work from the legendary Kool G Rapp! 4,5,6 was first of a string of comebacks for the man from QB with the crisp lisp – and a strong slice of mid 90s hip hop. Beats by Buckwild, Dr Butcher, T Ray and Naughty Shorts. There's a nice duet with Nas on "Fast Life", also ... CD

ABB, 2005. Used
A strong set from the team of Defari and DJ Babu of the Dilated Peoples! Keepers Of The Funk
Pendulum, 1994. Used
13 tracks in all on this second LP from the Lords. After their first album, just about anything was sure to be a let down, but this album has held up to the test of time far better than a lot of others from the same period. Includes "Ready Or Not", "Tic Toc", "Keepers Of ... CD

Mobb Deep

Infamy
Loud/Violator, 2001. Used
Mobb Deep steps into a new millennium with a slightly bigger sound, but without losing the plot! Long-heralded for being gritty and raw in the best kind of way, Prodigy & Havoc had nothing left to prove on that front – so taking a slight left turn with a more introspective lyrical bent ... CD
