Tony Bennett's All Time Greatest Hits

LP (Item 573746) Columbia, Late 50s/1960s/Early 70s — Condition: Sealed
2LP Gatefold

...

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

The performance has Tony singing with both the trio of Ralph Sharon, and a larger orchestra – making for a good blend of the styles he'd been working on his early albums for Columbia! LP, Vinyl record album

Hometown, My Town
Columbia, Early 60s. Very Good
One of Tony's greatest full LPs, an extremely coherent effort that's tied together with a single theme – very unique for his career at the time! The "Hometown" element is a tribute to New York – and the album's a sophisticated suite of tracks set to jazz backings by Ralph ... LP, Vinyl record album

For Once In My Life
Columbia, 1967. Near Mint-
A record that has a Motown hit for its title, but the album's got a depth that marks Bennett as one of the most complex singers of his generation – way past the broad belter of ballads from the 50s, and an all-adult male vocalist whose sound was essential to the sophistication of the ... Beat Of My Heart
Columbia, 1957. Very Good
A great Tony Bennett LP – very different than others from the time (or any time!) in that the format pairs the master vocalist with the "who's who" of drummers and percussionists of the late 50s – including Art Blakey, Jo Jones, Candido, and Sabu. The sound is as majestic and ... LP, Vinyl record album

One of our favorite vocal albums of the 50s – an incredibly witty live set from Noel Coward, recorded in Las Vegas, with a very different style than some of his other records!
