This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
An album that collects Fran Warren's early 50s recordings for MGM – most of which are sung strongly in her well-trilled vocal approach! The style here is a key link between 40s and 50s vocalists – sometimes as lush and romantic as in years past, but often turning towards a leaner, more ... LP, Vinyl record album
Obscure set of sexy vocal numbers, sung by Teri Thornton with some nice backing by Larry Wilcox and his orchestra. Thornton's got a polished style that resembles some of Sarah Vaughan's Mercury recordings of the mid and late 50s, and the backing is lush and dreamy, and works well with her voice. ... An obscure one from Della Reese – and a set with a nice touch of soul, too! The album was produced by Della herself, with arrangements by Peter Myers – and titles include "Fire & Rain", "Funny", "Bein Green", "If Loving You Is Wrong", and ... LP, Vinyl record album
A cool session for Decca that has Carmen's vocals flowing out wonderfully amidst some very haunting backings! The sound here is a bit unusual – given that the groups are headed by accordion Mat Mathews and pianist Dick Katz – both of whom have a good ear for unusual phrasing, and who ... Hard to imagine Etta Jones being lonely and blue – especially when she sounds as great as this! The album's one of Jones' early classics from Prestige – a date that really has her classing things up a lot, and drawing on bits of Billie Holiday and Dinah Washington's styles, to mix in ... A very unusual album fromt his vocalist – proof that Frank D'Rone was always more interesting than most of his contemporaries! The set features soulful backings from Richard Evans, arranged by Johnny Pate – who really gives things more of a groove than usual – on titles that ... LP, Vinyl record album
