How Will I Remember You? (portrait cover)

LP (Item 572244) Discovery, 1977 — Condition: Very Good+
A great album from the late 70's, featuring the excellent jazz vocalist backed by a totally tight group led by Gildo Mahones. The sound is deep and loud, and there's some nice phat bass on here, particularly on the intro to "Baltimore Oriole", which has a nice break sound at the beginning. A great track, with a nice jazz dance feel to it! Other titles include "Little Boat (O Barquinho)", "Until It's Time For You To Go", "Perhaps", and "Greatest Love Of All".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

June Christy

Impromptu (Discovery)
Discovery, 1977. Very Good+
An obscure moment in June Christy's career, but a great one too – a rare later recording, done many years after her time at Capitol Records – in a laidback setting with a hip group of west coast players! June's voice definitely shows a bit of age, but she's still head and shoulders ... LP, Vinyl record album

Spiced With Brasil
Epic, Mid 60s. Very Good+
Bossa with a great American twist! The package has all the sunniness of a ... LP, Vinyl record album

Lambert, Hendricks & Ross

Lambert, Hendricks & Ross Sing Ellington
Columbia, Early 60s. Very Good+
Although Lambert, Hendricks, & Ross started out their career singing vocalese versions of Basie tunes, they do a pretty darn great job here with Ellington – in fact, maybe even better, given the sophistication of the tracks. And while the album lacks some of the whimsy of the wonderful ... LP, Vinyl record album

Sammy Davis Jr Sings – Laurindo Almeida Plays
Reprise, 1966. Very Good+
