Quite possibly the most compelling of Jimmy Forrest's early 60s albums for Prestige Records – thanks to some really full backdrops from the mighty Oliver Nelson! Although a few of the tracks on the album have the same small combo soul jazz mode as Forrest's other Prestige sides, a number of other tunes feature larger backings by Nelson – arranged in that trademark hard-swinging 60s sound that few others could duplicate at the time. Nelson and King Curtis play a bit of tenor on one number with Jimmy – and other players include Chris Woods, Seldon Powell, Mundell Lowe, Ray Barretto, and Calvin Newborn – but as always with Forrest, Jimmy's raspy tenor sound is the real star of the set – blowing with an edge that's always great, and a style that should have made him huge! All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
