Road Show Vol 1

LP (Item 569014) Creative World, 1959 — Condition: Sealed
Notable personnel include Don Sevesky on tenor trombone, Rolf Ericson on trumpet, Charlie Mariano on alto sax, and Jimmy Campbell on drums.  © 1996-2023, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Focus
Verve, 1961. Very Good+ Gatefold
Oft-overlooked album that's actually one of Getz's most far-reaching of the 60s! Warner, 1961. Very Good+
A nice nice groover from Bill Doggett – one of those LPs he cut when he went "uptown" from King Records, bouncing around a host of semi-major labels in the 60s, and running through a variety of styles. This one's one of the best of that bunch – and has Doggett moving past his ... LP, Vinyl record album

Nice stuff from that period when Nancy was forging her unique mix of soul, jazz, and pop vocals into a sophisticated blend that transcended all styles.
