❔

Arranged by Don Costa – with tracks that include "Rain In My Heart", "Both Sides Now", "Cycles", "Pretty Colors", "Wandering", "Moody River", and "My Way Of Life".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Stereo pressing.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Paramount Years
Chairman, Mid 40s. Sealed
... LP, Vinyl record album
Mobile Fidelity/Capitol, 1961. Sealed
Sinatra's final album for Capitol – a contemplative set of tracks that reunites him with arranger Alex Stordahl, a frequent partner during the Columbia years, and an artist who's matured as much as Frank by this point, making a perfect fit for the sadder tone of the material. Tracks are in ... LP, Vinyl record album

Frank Sinatra

Close To You
Capitol, 1957. Very Good
An oft-forgotten gem in Sinatra's catalog – a sad, somber late 50s session conducted by Nelson Riddle, with additional backing by the Hollywood String Quartet, who give the record all the weepiness it needs to make the songs hit home. Sinatra's in that post-revival mode vocally, hitting a ... LP, Vinyl record album

Only The Lonely
Capitol, 1958. Very Good-
One of Frank Sinatra's last great ballad albums for Capitol – a sad and dreamy batch of tunes that kicks off with the incredible "Only The Lonely" – one of those Sinatra torch songs that's so great, so sad, nobody else has ever been able to record a better version, nor have ... Swing Along With Me
Reprise, 1961. Very Good
This was Sinatra's first swing record for Reprise and his third collaboration with Billy May who arranged and conducted this 1961 recording. It features some standards from the likes of Rodgers & Hart ("Have You Met Miss Jones?") and George & Ira Gershwin ("Love Walked ... LP, Vinyl record album

Shelter Of Your Arms
Reprise, Early 60s. Very Good+
One of our favorite albums by Sammy Davis Jr ever – a real lost treasure from his early years at Reprise! The record's got a jazzy,s winging style that's really great – and features the tasty hit "Bee Bom", a scatting masterpiece that's one of Sammy's best tunes ever – ... LP, Vinyl record album

Reprise, Early 60s. Very Good+
One of the grooviest albums ever made by this great jazz vocal group – and a record that's darn impossible to find on wax! The Hi Lo's here hit the bossa craze of the 60's, and they turn their vocal harmonies to a Brazilian groove, in sort of a roundabout recognition of the way that their ... LP, Vinyl record album
Reprise, 1964. Very Good+
A near-lost album from Sammy's years at Reprise – and an album that's got that nice bouncey style that the label was using with Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra in the 60s! A lot of the thanks goes to producer Sonny Burke, who inflects Sammy's vocals with a punched-up set of rhythms that makes ... LP, Vinyl record album

Country Style
Reprise, 1963. Very Good+
The roots of Dino's country style with arrangements by Don Costa. The style here is different from the hit Jimmy Bowman sound of Dean's stone cold country work of the mid to late 60s for Reprise – with a feel that's a bit more in the country pop vocal mode of 50s singers like Jim Reeves or ... As Long As She Needs Me
Reprise, Early 60s. Near Mint-
Wonderful Sammy from his years at Reprise – and a beautiful album cut in collaboration with arranger Marty Paich! Marty had a swinging, jazzy style that always brought out the best in Sam – even on an album of fuller, mellower tracks such as these. The title hit is done by Sammy in a ... LP, Vinyl record album

Nancy In London
Reprise, 1966. Very Good
Nancy Sinatra recording in London, but still getting some heavy help from Lee Hazlewood – who wrote about half the tracks on the record, and also guest stars on one number too!
