Rhapsody (10-inch)

LP (Item 564530) Atlantic, 1950 — Condition: Very Good
Originally: 9.99
(Mono yellow label presssing with deep groove. Cover has light surface wear and aging, some shelf wear, and some yellowed tape remnants at the seams.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Eddie Harris

Is It In
Atlantic, 1974. Very Good-
One of Eddie's groovier Varitone albums, and a record that has a very electric sound to it! At times, Eddie's electric sax is so off-beat that you'd think he was playing a synthesizer instead of a sax, but in true Harris form, he always keeps it funky, and even the weird sounds have a great groove ... A beautiful little record from the Art Ensemble of Chicago – and although performed for a bigger label than some of their previous indie outings, the set may be one of the most dynamic the group ever recorded! Lennie Tristano

Lennie Tristano
Atlantic, 1955. Very Good+
Darkly imaginative work from the great Lennie Tristano – and one of the few full albums he ever cut as a leader! Great double album live set with Roland leading a tight group through a long and varied set of material, all of which showcases the odd goofy sound of his music, and his offbeat approach to more familiar tracks. Alternate Takes
Atlantic, Late 50s/1974. Near Mint-
70's issue of alternate takes from some of Trane's best Atlantic sessions, including the one that went on to be the Giant Steps album. Eddie continues the funky groove begun on Instant Funk, and smoothed out over albums like I Need Some Money – and although jazz fans probably gave him hell for going this way, we think this is actually a pretty darn great album! 10 Years Hence
Atlantic, 1975. Very Good 2LP Gatefold
A spacious mid 70s set from Yusef Lateef – with some numbers showing his more soaringly spiritual bent – and others hewing towards a more bluesy or loosely funky vein.
