A surprisingly great session of Latin Jazz from Mongo Santamaria – his first in years, but with a sparkling sound that recalls the best of the old days! No wonder, though, because Mongo's lifetime musical partner, the great Marty Sheller, is firmly in place directing the band. Marty's not lost his touch, and the cuts on the album groove with a soulfulness that was always present in his best work. The overall feel is a bit more in a modern Latin Jazz mode than Mongo's late 60s funk, but the instrumental component is very very high – especially on the cuts "A Kiss In Her Glance", "Bahia", "You've Got It Bad Girl", "Hush", and "Free World Mambo". © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
