Rare Sinatra

LP (Item 562326) Capitol (UK), 1950s — Condition: Very Good
A great UK record that brings together rare Frank Sinatra Capitol material from the 50s – sides that were on singles, but not on albums – and some that only showed up in weird sources! Titles include "Take A Chance", "The Song Is You", "Where Or When", "It All depends On You", "The One I Love", "I Couldn't Care Less", "If It's The Last Thing I Do", "Memories Of You", and "Don't Make A Beggar Of Me".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Late 70s UK issue. Cover has some surface wear.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Nat King Cole

After Midnight
Capitol, 1956. Very Good+
A great album, and one in which Nat King Cole returns to his roots as a jazz singer! The session differs greatly from Nat's other schmaltzy ones from the time, and it features a very "after midnight" sound – with Nat playing and singing backed only by a small combo that includes ... Mark Murphy

Start Of Something
Capitol, Late 50s. Near Mint-
Quite possibly the greatest of Mark Murphy's early albums for Capitol – a heavily swinging set that features some great arrangements from Bill Holman, and Mark's classic version of the title tune – which he'd reprise nicely in years to come! The album's got Murphy in great west coast ... LP, Vinyl record album

Nancy Wilson

Capitol, 1968. Very Good+
Killer 60s work from Nancy! Despite the "easy" in the title, this record's a perfect batch of pop soul tunes – arranged by Jimmy Jones with a breezy style that works perfectly for Nancy's voice. The record features her big hit "Face it Girl, It's Over", which was ... LP, Vinyl record album
