A genius pairing of two top CTI Records talents in the 70s – the sweet guitar of George Benson and the amazing reed talents of Joe Farrell – both players who recorded in very different modes for the label, and who come out here sounding even more different when working together! There's certainly some of the tightness of Benson's records, but also maybe a bit more open flow, too – and Farrell blows flutes and soprano sax, with a quality that's lyrical but powerful – almost bringing a Bobbi Humphrey sort of energy to the tunes at times, amidst these strong soulful arrangements from David Matthews! Yet even Matthews is nicely different – not as all-out R&B-inflected as on his Kudu productions, and nicely laidback – really letting the soloists take off on tunes that include "Old Devil Moon", "Camel Hump", "Flute Song", and "Beyond The Ozone". © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
