Wild Racers

LP (Item 56093) Sidewalk, 1968 — Condition: Very Good+
Instrumental grooves all the way – and one of the best of the Tower/Sidewalk soundtracks of the late 60s! The Arrows handle only two of the album's songs – and the real gems here come from The Sidewalk Sounds, who sound a lot hipper than usual! Given that this one is more of a race film than a biker one, the tunes are a bit more expansive – with grooves that throw in a bit more jazz, and some other dreamier 60s soundtrack type themes which round out the set nicely. The Arrows perform "Love Theme From The Wild Racers" and "The Checkered Flag", and The Sidewalk Sounds also perform "Love Theme", this time with a cool French voice in the middle, plus the cuts "Bedroom Theme", "First Meeting", "The Bullfight", "The Train Station", and "Wild Racers Theme".  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Original pressing. Cover has surface wear, an ink stamp, and some writing in pen. Labels have initials in marker.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Condition Notes

If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially if it is release or pressing details, or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Trip – Original Soundtrack
Sidewalk, 1967. Very Good
One of the trippiest soundtracks of the 60s – a wonderful blend of psych tracks from The Electric Flag, and moogier electronic moments from the great Paul Beaver! Music From Mr Lucky

One of the greatest soundtracks ever from the early years of Henry Mancini – a hip jazzy TV score that we've loved for years! One of the grooviest Michael Caine spy films of the 60s – given an equally groovy soundtrack by Konrad Elfers! Luiz Bonfa/Eumir Deodato

Gentle Rain
Mercury, 1965. Near Mint-
A dreamy little soundtrack to this lesser-known film – but a real bossa classic from the 60s, featuring original tunes by Luiz Bonfa and orchestrations by Deodato! The sound of the set is really wonderful – sometimes fragile, sometimes full – with a juxtaposition that beautifully ... LP, Vinyl record album

James Brown, Survivor, Go West, & Others

Rocky IV
Scotti Bros, 1985. Near Mint-
A real mish-mash of terrible music (then again, wasn't the movie pretty terrible too?) – but the record is noteworthy for the track "Living In America", which was a bit of a comeback tune for James Brown – and not a bad little number when you think about it. Of course, the ... LP, Vinyl record album

April Fools
Columbia, Late 60s. Near Mint-
A really wonderful soundtrack, with loads of groovy tracks!
