All Shook Down

CD (Item 560629) Reprise, 1990 — Condition: Used
$2.99 ...

CD

The final album by The Replacements – and a nice one, even if it's closer to a debut solo album for Paul Westerberg than it is to the rest of the 'Mats ouvre! This is a classic example of an album with strengths we either refused to acknowledge back in the day as Replacements classicists, or simply overlooked – but it sounds pretty damn good all these years later. Scott Litt's co-production is clean sound, but not too polished, and titles include "Merry Go Round", "One Week At A Time", "Nobody", "Bent Out Of Shape", "Sadly Beautiful", "Someone Take The Wheel", "When It Began", "All Shook Down", "Attitude", "Torture", "The Last" and more.  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs. This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.

Replacements

Hootenanny
Twin Tone, 1983. Used
Ahhh . . . The young genius of The Replacements! A bit punk, a bit garage, with a heartfelt quality that you didn't always find in indie rock at the time. These rough hewn gems are already as brilliant as they can be – shiny little diamonds that show Westerberg and crew working at top form, ... CD

Let It Be
Restless/Ryko, 1984. Used
The masterpiece by one of the greatest genuine rock bands of all time – finally remastered! Let It Be veers all over the place, or at least as much as jangly rock music can, in the best way possible. Includes the pseudo twangy opener "I Will Dare", with the distinctly midwestern ... CD

Tim
Sire, 1985. Used
A big crossover classic for the champions of the Minneapolis scene – their first for Sire and featuring some of the greatest rock songs of the 80s, be it college radio, mainstream or any thing – greatness period! The sound is a bit more polished than the Twin Tone years, but there's no ... CD

Joni Mitchell

Blue (LP style sleeve)
Reprise/Rhino, 1971. Used
One of the greatest albums ever from Joni Mitchell – and maybe one of the most go-to records in her legendary catalog! The record set a new high mark for singer/songwriter material in the 70s – and there's an intimate, upfront quality here that's even more striking than Mitchell's ... CD

Reprise, 1995. Used
A timeless jangly country rock album from a band that didn't sound like it was setting out to reinvent the wheel, even if they ultimately almost did! At the time, pressure was pretty high to live up the preceding legacy of the Uncle Tupelo and contemporaneous debut of Son Volt, but in hindsight, ... CD

Steely Dan

Everything Must Go
Reprise, 2003. Used
The second Steely Dan album in the last three years, and only their third in the previous 20! On Everything Must Go, the Dan take a more laidback, easy funk approach to the arrangements than the incredibly grand scale of their mid-to-late 70s work. The tunes are comparably minimal, in fact, but ... CD
