Exposure

LP (Item 560254) EG/Polydor, 1979 — Condition: Very Good+
One of the best solo albums from Robert Fripp – a set that's full of his incredible guitar explorations, but which also features some surprising vocal moments – including Fripp's use of Daryl Hall, who he'd later produce on a full album! Hall sings on "You Burn Me Up I'm A Cigarette" – and other tunes include "Norht Star", "NY3", "Mary", "Exposure", "Urban Landscape", "Here Comes The Flood" with Peter Gabriel, "Water Music 1", and "Postscript".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Avalon
Warner/EG, 1982. Very Good+
The kind of Roxy Music album that nobody would have expected back when Brian Eno was in the group – but a set that really helped expose the group to a whole new generation, and find a way to develop that special style that Bryan Ferry had brought to the group in the previous decade! Cafe Bleu
Polydor (UK), 1984. Very Good+
Say what you want, we love this album! When it came out, we were such big Jam fans that we could never forgive Paul Weller – but now, nearly 20 years later, we're stunned at how great some of the soul songs on the album are. Sure, you've got to throw away about half the tracks – ... LP, Vinyl record album

Out Of Limits!
Warner, Mid 60s. Very Good+
The title track's a mighty big hit for The Marketts – and it's also a great way to describe the group's talent for pushing past their boundaries at the time! David Bowie

Young Americans
RCA, 1975. Very Good+
A brilliant soul album! That's right, we said SOUL album! Bowie was at the height of his Ziggy Stardust fame when this one was recorded – a drastic left-turn in styles, forged during a point in his American tour when he could take a break, head to Philly, plug in at the Sigma Sound Studios, ...
