George Clinton — Computer Games ... LP 11.99

Great post-Parliafunkadelicment work from George Clinton – surely the biggest hit of his albums for Capitol – especially since it features the singles "Atomic Dog" and "Loopzilla"! We'll be honest in saying that at the time this one came out, as die-hard Detroit funk fans, we remember thinking "oh gosh, George has lost it" – but from the perspective of many years later, the record sure sounds like classic P-Funk to us – really picking up where the last few Funkadelic and Parliament albums left off! The album sports a great Pedro Bell cover, features some nice work with Bootsy, includes the hits "Atomic Dog" and "Loopzilla" – and also features some lesser-known gems that include "Pot Sharing Tots", "Get Dressed", "Computer Games", and "One Fun At A Time". Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.

A nice mid 80s groover from Paul Laurence for Capitol – whose biggest successes, arguably, were in his services as a songwriter and producer for other artists – making a pretty great case for his own work as a headline act on Haven't You Heard! May may not have heard it, actually, but ... CD

A very cool package that contains all of the sides the tenor sax giant King Curtis recorded for Capitol Records! The package is wonderful – 3CDs, wrapped up in a nice big box, with a huge booklet that has notes on the work, great photos, and full details of the sessions. King's tenor was ... CD
Goldmine (UK), Late 70s. Used
Goldmine's first CD in their series exploring the modern soul genre – one that they define as being a bit smoother, and with a sort of 70's mid- and uptempo twist to it (but no disco or club-type tracks.) Lots of rare non-LP stuff, with tracks like "I Need Love" by Daybreak, "S ... CD

Great stuff! The folks at Goldmine always do a great job with their comps when they move away from the northern soul genre, and this one is no exception. The set compiles a stunning batch of 25 rare soul harmony tracks from the 60's, and they're all by obscure groups who only recorded 45s for ... CD
