Wheels Of Fire (2LP pressing)

LP (Item 558601) Atco, 1968 — Condition: Very Good-
2LP Gatefold
Titles include "Pressed Rat & Warthog", ""Politician", "Deserted Cities Of The Heart", "Sitting On Top Of The World", and "White Room".  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good - (minus)

  • Vinyl may be dirty, and can lack a fair amount of luster.
  • Vinyl can have a number of marks, either in clusters or smaller amounts, but deeper.
  • This is the kind of record that you'd buy to play, but not because it looked that great. Still, the flaws should be mostly cosmetic, with nothing too deep that would ruin the overall record.
  • Examples include a record that has been kept for a while in a cover without the paper sleeve, or heavily played by a previous owner and has some marks across the surface. The record should play okay, though probably with surface noise.

Condition Notes

If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially if it is release or pressing details, or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Bee Gees

Idea
Atco, 1968. Very Good+
Things are getting slightly more complicated for the Bee Gees here – but we mean that in a good way! The vocals are superb – soaring forth with this unique sort of majesty, and light years away from their 70s disco pop styles – and the backings are a strange mix of rootsy and ... Iron Butterfly

Heavy
Atco, 1968. Very Good+
Heavy sounds from Iron Butterfly – a record that's not nearly as well known as their classic In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida – but which has a very similar vibe all the way through! The songs are a bit shorter, but these guys really manage to do a lot with a little – using lots of brooding ... LP, Vinyl record album

Delaney & Bonnie

Motel Shot
Atco, 1971. Very Good+ Gatefold
Maybe one of the purest expressions of the genius of Bonnie and Delaney Bramlett – an album that was recorded to feel like it was done in a motel room – with a stripped-down vibe that really gets at the best energy of the pair! Roots rock mixes with blue-eyed soul, gospel piano, and ... LP, Vinyl record album

Baker Gurvitz Army

Hearts On Fire
Atco, 1976. Very Good+
The last album in the legendary run of records from Ginger Baker and the brothers Adrian and Paul Gurvitz – a heck of a power trio, but one that comes across in a very different way than Baker's famous work in Cream! If anything, Ginger's drums have more of a funk current than before – ... LP, Vinyl record album
Atco, 1968. Very Good
Really cool work from the duo of David Teegarden and Skip "Van Winkle" Knape – a pair who work here with just drums from one member, organ from the other – and some mighty nice harmonized vocals! The approach is almost like a Fillmore crowd take on the modes of Sam & Dave ... LP, Vinyl record album

Roxy Music

Flesh & Blood
Atco, 1980. Near Mint-
A fantastic start to the second chapter of Roxy Music – a time when the group was stripped down to a trio, and almost seemed to arise as a way to answer the newer music that was coming up from all the younger groups that Bryan Ferry had influenced with his work in the 70s! Things aren't as ... LP, Vinyl record album
