Dancehall Dynamite

LP (Item 55578) Relativity, 1998 — Condition: Near Mint-

An excellent late 90s dancehall compilation, that features a variety of artists and rhythms, unlike a lot of the monotonous collections that seem to make the rounds more often now. 13 tracks in all, with nice bouncing tracks by Bobby Digital, Steely & Clevie, Black Scorpio and others: Rayvon & Shaggy "Old Foot", Beenie Man 'Year 4", Scare Dem Crew "Many Many", Red Rat & Goofy "Big Man/Little Youth", Sizzla "Good Ways", Yami Bolo & Capleton 'Put Down Your Weapon", Terror Fabulous "Love Me AS I Am", Mr Vegas "Heads High", Cutty Ranks "DJ Riding West", Yellowman "Want Your Body", Richie Stephens & Chrissy D "Physical Attraction", Frisco Kid "Juvenile", and Merciless "Mama Cooking".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover has a cut corner.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

African Herbsman
Trojan (UK), 1973. Near Mint-
Great early work by Bob Marley & The Wailers – some of it produced by the legendary Lee Perry, too! Bob Marley & The Wailers

Shakedown
ALA, 1960s. Very Good
Early Leslie Kong produced sides of groovy rocksteady, voiced by a young Bob Marley, dug up and re-released after he became an international reggae phenomenon. While this clearly an attempt to cash in on his success, it's still some really great early stuff, and nice to have on vinyl, too! 10 ... LP, Vinyl record album

Solomonic (Jamaica), 1978. Very Good
A monster roots side from Bunny Wailer, one of the monumental LPs he cut in the late 70s. By this point, he had really hit his stride as a solo artist in his own right, delivering material that was equal to what he had recorded with the Wailers, and every bit as righteous as Marley and Tosh's solo ...
