Animalization

LP (Item 555285) MGM, 1966 — Condition: Very Good

Raw, bluesy work from this excellent group – with tracks that include "Inside Looking Out", "Gin House Blues", "What Am I Living For", "I Put A Spell On You", "Don't Bring Me Down", and "One Monkey Won't Stop The Show".  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Mono pressing with deep groove. Cover has light wear and a hype sticker.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

The group behind one of the coolest novelty tunes of the 70s – the excellent "Chick A Boom (Don't Ya Jes Love It)" – one of those cuts that showed up everywhere at the time, but didn't exactly put the band on the map! That great cut leads off the set – and other numbers ... LP, Vinyl record album

Here I Am
MGM, 1967. Sealed
Slightly hipper than some of Johnny Tillotson's other work – filled with lesser-known tracks that mix sweeter themes with some of the headier topics of the times – almost showing that great way that country pop was coming into play with some of the issues and pressures of the late 60s. ... A great early 50s MGM album from Hank Williams – overflowing with greatness on nearly every track, and featuring a good mix of hits and lesser-known gems! Winds Of Change

The Winds Of Change are definitely afoot in the sound of The Animals – as the album's one of their most psychedelic outings ever – and also a bit funky at times too! Production by Tom Wilson is really great – echoey at most moments, with a kind of "flash" and shimmer ... LP, Vinyl record album

Another gem from The Animals' overlooked late 60s years on MGM – a time when the group were easily making some of the most inventive music on the label! Black Pearl – Live!
Prophesy, 1970. Very Good+ Gatefold
Nice bit of rockin' funky soul by a band that we know little about, but who seem to be an LA rock band that's obsessed with soul music. The LP contains a great 11 minute version of "Cold Sweat", played with a lot of funky vamping by the band in a JB's style. There's also a nice version ... LP, Vinyl record album
