cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible.
When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the
lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves),
and the booklet to be in good shape.
Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or
defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs —
so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.
All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws.
If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine
that it plays correctly —
and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.
Proof that at his start, Jimmy Smith had a greatness that knew no bounds – as the album's one of a few that Blue Note recorded in the late 50s, but never issued until many years later – even though they had already released so many amazing records from this period! The set has Jimmy ... CD
A wonderful pairing of this German pianist and American tenor star Zoot Sims – and an album that may well be the greatest that Jutta Hipp ever cut! Hipp was one of the rising stars of the German postwar jazz scene in the 50s – and although she issued other American albums in the decade ... CD
Beautifully-blown work from saxophonist Joe Lovano – working here with his Us Five group, a quintet that features the great Esperanza Spalding on bass! The sound is somewhat straighter, and almost more soulful than some of Lovano's recent work – yet there's still a touch of the modern ... CD
Rare work by Charlie Parker, recorded at Storyville Nightclub in Boston in 1953 – originally broadcast on radio station WHDH, and featuring Bird in a more open, relaxed style than his studio sessions. The recording quality is a bit dated, but the quality of the playing isn't – with ... CD
Features Lovano on tenor, Hank Jones on piano, George Mraz on bass, and Paul Motion on drums and cymbals. Tracks include "I'm All For You", "Don't Blame Me", "I Waited For You", and "Countdown". CD
Classic Freddie Hubbard on Blue Note – from the hip cover to the magical music in the grooves! The session is one of Freddie's all-time best from the early days – and features a very hard wailing lineup that mixes tight hardbop rhythms with some more adventurous soloing that almost has ... CD
A great slice from Jackie McLean's rare unissued 60s sessions for Blue Note – a rollingly soulful session that stands in stark contrast to some of his more modern sides of the time! The set's got Jackie working with a group that includes Lee Morgan on trumpet and Harold Mabern on piano ... CD
A completely righteous mix of jazz and African percussion – put together by drummer Art Blakey at a time when he was riding high with the Jazz Messengers, but also was willing to work on great experiments like this! The album's years ahead of its time – and arguably opens the door for ... CD
Features Emmanuel Pahud on flute, Jacky Terrasson on piano and Fender Rhodes, Sean Smith on bass, and Ali Jackson on drums. All tracks are arranged by Terrasson and based on pieces by Ravel, Faure, Saint-Saens, Mozart, Vivaldi, and Debussy. CD
Pianist Renee Rosnes meet the Danish Radio Big Band! Tracks include Rosnes originals "Orion's Belt", "Ancestors", "Black Holes", and "Quiet Earth" – plus "Early One Morning" and "Lament". CD
Ronny's groove is firmly in place here – and the album's one of his strongest in years! The record still has plenty of numbers that follow in Ronny's "hip hop meets jazz funk" mode – but there's also some sweet NuSoul production on the best cuts, really letting the guitar ... CD
