Unavailable 16 & The Original Nitty Gritty

CD (Item 553757) Vee Jay, Early 60s — Condition: Used
$11.99 ...

CD

Originally: 14.99
An excellent collection of earlier Vee Jay vocal group and R&B material – put out by the label in the early 60s, to bring back 16 "unavailable" singles – mixed here with the equally great Nitty Gritty compilation too – for a total of 28 cuts! The material is great – and goes way past the hits – and the album stands alone as a wonderful vocal group relic, filled with great rare bits. Titles include "Lonely Mood" by The 5 Echoes, "Down The Aisle Of Love" by The Quintones, "Mountain Of Love" by Harold Dorman, "Robin The Cradle" by Tony Bells, "Red Sails In The Sunset" by The Spaniels, "Rockin Little Angel" by Ray Smith, "A Long Time Ago" by The Impressions, "Up On The Mountain" by The Magnificients, "Mother's Son" by The Delegates, and "You Said You Loved Me" and "Newly Wed" by The Orchids.  © 1996-2023, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Out of print.)

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs. This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.

A great return to form for Prince – even though at the time, we all had to refer to him with an unpronounceable symbol! There's a lean, funky vibe to most of the record – almost a step back to the unified group approach of his mid 80s classics – and even though a few sonic ... CD
