More Genius Of Jankowski

LP (Item 552867) Mercury, 1965 — Condition: Near Mint-
(€2.53 || £2.23 || ¥336) (approx.)

Get set for More Genius from Horst Jankowski – a wonderful blend of electric bass in the rhythms and tinkling piano over the top – a rich new sound that Horst crafted for the 60s easy scene! The use of the bass really helps keep things fresh – quite different than the usual easy groove for the time – nicely rhythmic at most moments, even when the Jankowski Singers come into the mix to help out! Titles include "Cast Your Fate To The Wind", "Play A Simple Melody", "Canadian Sunset", "A Walk In Bavaria", "Berlin Stroll", and "Alpine Highway". (UK pressing. Cover has a light stain at the bottom.)  © 1996-2017, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Mercury, Mid 60s. Sealed
The grand piano in the hands of the maestro – the great Horst Jankowski, an artist who took the instrument from the concert hall to the AM radio in the 60s! The album's got Jankowksi playing in this nicely punctuated style – a deftness of fingerskills that points towards a more serious ... LP, Vinyl record album
Sitar Beat
Mercury, Late 60s. Very Good+
Groovy groovy sitar pop – played by Big Jim Sullivan, also known as Lord Sitar! This set is a great session of 60s pop tunes, turned Eastern, in the mode of work by Ananda Shankar or Vince Bell – with a blend of original compositions, mixing sitar, tabla, and all manner of baroque 60s ... Swing Softly
Mercury, Early 60s. Very Good
Groovy guitar instrumental tracks by one of the biggest international talents of the 60's. Ingmann's guitar has a unique hard edged sound that's in keeping with American instrumentalists of the same type, but which has a cool overdubbed guitar sound that's a bit like Les Paul. Black Mass

This is one of Mort Garson's craziest moog records ever, or as the label says: "Moog Goes Supernatural with Eerie Electronics". Strings Aflame
RCA, 1959. Very Good
Despite the "strings" in the title, this one actually swings quite well, and has a bit of an exotic gypsy flavor to it, augmented by cool spacey production that makes the strings hum with a strange other-worldly tonality. The set's filled with the usual crazy Esquivel arrangements, and ... LP, Vinyl record album
