This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
A fantastic 70s album from Gary Burton – a set that definitely has the "new" promised in the title, as it takes off more from some of Gary's work in previous years! The record's got this explosive sense of color that really comes through in Gary's vibes – and in the way the ... LP, Vinyl record album
A key later session from the Art Ensemble Of Chicago – a record that gained them global exposure through the ECM label, and which has them working in a beautifully subtle sense of sound, space, and tone! The work is less all-out challenging than some of the group's earliest recordings – ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the few ECM sides recorded by the Art Ensemble Of Chicago – easily some of the hippest work the label issued at the time, and a key way for the avant collective to get a bit of large audience exposure! The sound is still very much in the best AEC style here – and if anything, ... LP, Vinyl record album
Moody musings from guitarist Ralph Towner – recorded here on 12-string and classical guitar, plus a bit of piano – and working with a quartet that includes Jan Garbarek on sax and flute, Eberhard Weber on bass and cello, and Jon Christensen on drums and percussion. The group do a nice ... LP, Vinyl record album
A really beautiful album – quite different than the solo or trio material by Keith Jarrett for ECM in the 70s – as the group is a quartet, with Jan Garbarek on soprano and tenor sax, Palle Danielsen on bass, and Jon Christensen on drums! LP, Vinyl record album
A strong quartet date, with a bit more edge than some of his solo piano records – thanks to work by Jan Garbarek on soprano and tenor, Palle Danielsson on bass, and John Christensen on drums. Jarrett also plays a bit of percussion and timbales! LP, Vinyl record album
The first album ever recorded by this obscure blind female pianist! The set has great original compositions that have a nice deep soul jazz feel – and players include Vincet McEwen on trumpet, Frank Perowsky on tenor, and a young Robin Kenyatta on alto sax – who comes off with some ... One of Charles Mingus' true classics – and an essential album in any jazz collection! This 1959 gem was recorded by Mingus at a key point in his career – when he was rising from the jazz underground into the ranks of America's elite jazzmen, penning some of the most challenging work of ... An excellent Clarke Boland Big Band LP – very much in the spirit of the group's best work of the era – one that uses the blues of the title merely as springboard for their ebullient big band groove! The album featuring a stellar array of soloists, including Tony Coe on clarinet, Sahib ... LP, Vinyl record album
