The fantastic first set from this amazing group – a quartet that found an especially great place for expression for all four of its members – coming together with a bold sound that really made Quest a well-remembered act from the time! The lineup features Dave Liebman on soprano, alto, and flute – plus Richie Beirach on piano, George Mraz on bass, and Al Foster on drums – all players who balance darker ideas with a personal sense of warmth – a mode that's maybe a bit hard to put in words, but which comes through instantly on record – and which especially illustrates how great the setting was for Beirach and Liebman. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
- May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
- Possible minor surface noise when played.
