Used CD Grade
We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs.
This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer
used CDs in the best possible condition.
When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the
lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves),
and the booklet to be in good shape.
Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or
defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs),
so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.
All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws.
After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine
that it plays correctly.
If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
A heck of a great little record – one that shouldn't work so well, but it does! For the set, Sonny Stitt's blowing in front of a larger brass section – and while the prospect of a Sonny Stitt big band record might not sound that great at first, this one really kicks, largely because of ... CD
A tight swinger from Sonny Stitt – one of the standout 60s dates he recorded for the Impulse label, a place where he seemed to get even more care and focus in the studio! The record's got all the soulful swing of Stitt's classics for Roost, but also hits a slightly more lyrical groove at ... CD
Great straight work from the legendary Sonny Stitt – recording here in a mode that's different than his funky sides of the time – and a lot more back to basics! The group's a quintet – as Sonny blows both tenor and alto, with help from Joe Newman on trumpet, Duke Jordan on piano, ... CD
A nice collection pulled together in the 80s by Fantasy from Stitt's organ-based sessions, that has a cool rolling groove throughout that you don't always find in some of his more bop-oriented sides. Sidemen include Jack McDuff, Don Patterson, Grant Green, Billy James and others, with 9 numbers in ... CD
One of the sublime 50s classics that Sonny Stitt recorded for Verve Records – all albums of understated beauty, and with a sense of perfection that's still hard to match all these many years later! And although there's a similarity to the records, each also has a bit of a difference too ... CD
An unusual one from the Dexter's early 70s years – a US session cut with a tighter format than some of Gordon's imports, in a mode that kind of recalls his best Blue Note work of the 60s! The group on the set features Wynton Kelly on piano, Sam Jones on bass, and Roy Brooks on drums – ... CD
Titles include "The Honeydripper", "Sanctified Waltz", "Opus De Funk", "Hot Barbeque", "Mellow Gravy", "Yeah, Baby", "Rock Candy", "Tough 'Duff", and more – 14 tracks total. CD
Key early trio material from Thelonious Monk – a record that features seminal recordings of important compositions, all done in sharply angular versions that showcase the best modern Monk touch on piano! As with a number of early Prestige LPs, the material here is pulled from 2 different ... CD
Smoking tenor sax from Paul Quinichette – heard here in a small group of Basie bandmates, but in a setting that also has all the players stretch out a lot more than usual! Tracks are a bit long, and in addition to Quinichette on tenor, the set also features Shad Collins on trumpet, Nat ... CD
James Moody on alto and tenor saxophone, Pee Wee Moore on baritone saxophone, William Shepherd on trombone, Dave Burns on trumpet, Jimmy Boyd and Sadik Hakim on piano, John Lathan on bass, Clarence Johnson and Joe Harris on drums, with vocals from Eddie Jefferson and Iona Wade. CD
