Evolution

LP (Item 545292) Capitol, 1970 — Condition: Very Good

(Cover has light wear and a small cutout notch.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Beach Boys

Friends
Capitol, 1968. Very Good
An under-discovered album from The Beach Boys – and one of our favorite records by the group! The set's kind of a slinking back to the personal, quirky territory of Smile, but with a somewhat more intimate, less-ambitious feel – one that comes off like a tapestry of simple expressions ... Hard to deny the lasting power of this crucial album from The Beatles – a set that unleashed some of their trippiest sounds and most tender moments too! A mixed bag record, but with some really wonderful moments – and essential listening as a lead-up to the Pet Sounds album to follow! My Feet Are Smiling
Capitol, 1975. Very Good+
A really fantastic album from Leo Kottke – the kind of 70s material that really set him apart from the rest, and which really gave him a special place away from the acoustic underground of the time! Kottke started out with a album on Takoma Records that was every bit as great a guitar ... LP, Vinyl record album

Reflex never had much of a long recorded legacy – but they certainly made their mark with this classic album of 80s electro pop! Cyrkle

Neon
Columbia, 1967. Very Good
Beautiful work from The Cyrkle – post-folk, partly-sunshine, and a treasure trove of really groovy tunes! The boldest face of politics on the dancefloor in the early 80s – a tremendous little debut from Heaven 17, formed out of the ashes of the original lineup of Human League! Moody, folksy work from the Canadian duo of Fraser & Debolt – helped here by a bit of extra work on fiddle from Ian Guenther!
