A very early US release of work by Ravi Shankar – originally part of Columbia's "Adventures In Sound" series, a mixed mood music/world music imprint that offered up some excellent work in its day! The set begins with a compelling "Introduction To Indian Music" – spoken by Ravi himself over the course of a few minutes, with bits of instrumentation used to illustrate his points. Shankar's sitar is in a trio with tabla and tambura – and after that spoken introduction, the record then moves into four longer trance-like tracks – "Dadra", "Maru Bihag", "Bhimpalasi", and "Sindhi Bhairavi". © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
