A 2 LP career retrospective of Marvin Gaye's recordings with Motown – one that doesn't try to be a greatest hits or fully comprehensive – but rather dedicates a side of each LP to different themes as approached by Marvin! Side 1 is subtitled "Crossroads" and features "After The Dance (inst)", "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" and "Loving & Affection". Side 2 goes a bit further, calling itself "A Parting of the Ways" and has some classic breakup songs: "When Did You Stop Loving Me, When Did I Stop Loving You?" and a live version of "Distant Lover". Side 3 is love songs, entitled "A Witness to Love" and features "That's the Way Love Is", "Lonely Lover" and "The End of Our Road". Finally side 4 covers the reflective side of Marvin, called "Introspection" and features a version of "The Star Spangled Banner" unavailable elsewhere, and "Save the Children" and "Wholy Holy".
