Led Zeppelin — Houses Of The Holy ... CD 4.99

Led Zeppelin at peak power – mixing hard rock bombast with deep, genuine love for blues and folk guitars! Houses Of The Holy is the essential the blueprint for countless imitators to come – but it's also got smarts, subtleties and creative ambitious that's just plain lost on the watered wannabes that floated up in Zeppelin's wake. Titles include "The Crunge", "Over The Hills & Far Away", "The Song Remains The Same", "The Rain Song", "Dancing Days", "Dyer Maker", "No Quarter", and "The Ocean".  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Red and green Rockefeller label pressing SD 19130. Includes the heavy inner sleeve.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Swan Song, 1982. Near Mint- 2LP + 3CD Box Set
The title's an apt one – given that the record was the end of the tremendous run of records from Led Zeppelin – issued after the death of legendary drummer John Bomham – but the set's also way more than just an endpoint, as many of the tracks return to the group's beginning – ... Led Zeppelin

Physical Graffiti
Swan Song/Atlantic, 1975. Very Good+ 2LP
Led Zeppelin at their most sprawling – in both ambition and in the pacing – on the gargantuan Physical Graffiti! This is the album where they started bringing some odd synth textures to the sound, and it's to Zeppelin's eternal credit that this doesn't compromise their blues-reverent ... LP, Vinyl record album

Flower Travellin Band

Satori
Atlantic (Japan), 1971. Near Mint- Gatefold
One of the heaviest albums to ever come from Japan – a wicked batch of tripped-out, fuzzy tunes to rival the hardest rock from the UK at the time! Flower Travellin Band have a basic approach that's build on pounding drums and rumbling basslines – and although the guitars are fierce too ... LP, Vinyl record album

Atlantic, Early 70s. Very Good
The MC5 move to Atlantic Records after their first album – and find a whole new sort of focus that's pretty great! Their classic debut was a raw live album – designed to capture their intensity on the Detroit scene of the late 60s – but this set has the group stretching out, and ... LP, Vinyl record album

Yes

Fragile
Atlantic, 1972. Very Good- Gatefold
Classic! Fragile is the one that catapulted Yes to unlikely stardom, and in so doing, it brought adventurous, proggy rock to mainstream audience – pretty much changing the face of rock for at least a decade to come! Tonto's Expanding Head Band

Tonto's Expanding Head Band
Atlantic, 1975. Very Good+
An analogue electronic classic – a huge crossover record from the early 70s, done with a pulsating, progressive sound that's a bit like the best early work by Tangerine Dream – but a fair bit tighter! Malcolm Cecil composed and performed the set – and it's a keyboard-heavy album ... LP, Vinyl record album

Sire, 1982. Very Good+ 2LP
A great early live set from The Talking Heads – a collection of recordings from the late 70s and early 80s, culled together in a format that almost makes the whole thing come across like a discreet live album! The versions of tunes here are changed up nicely from their studio counterparts ... LP, Vinyl record album
