Fantastic harmony soul! The Montclairs were a heavy vocal group, with that sweet early 70s group sound that you'd hear from east coast groups like The Whatnauts or Soul Generation – and like those groups, they kind of had a dope gangster approach that gave their work a nice contrast, and a strong edge. This brilliant 2CD set compiles the group's only full album – Dreaming Out Of Season – plus 16 extra tracks that include a number of non-LP singles, and other assorted rarities! It's the first time the group's work has been properly packaged and mastered for the CD generation – and the wealth of extra material more than makes the package worth it, even if you've got the original LP! Titles include "Prelude To A Heartbreak", "Baby (You Know I'm Gonna Miss You)", "Angel", "Out My Back Door", "Ease The Pain", "Unwanted Love", and "Hung Up On Your Love".  © 1996-2020, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Out of print, booklet has a slight tear & some light staining.)

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Huge in Chicago, but not nearly as well-known elsewhere, The Sheppards were one of the windy city's best-ever vocal groups, and they had a rich deep style that spanned the gap between R&B and Soul, in a similar manner to The Impressions. This long-overdue set brings together 25 cuts by the ... CD

10 tasty numbers by Chic, all filled with the lively guitar work and tight production of Nile Rodgers – and the group's own strong talent for delivering a hook that won't miss. Sure, it's pop disco for the masses, but most of these cuts still sound surprisingly good these days. Includes the ... CD
