There Must Be A Better World Somewhere

LP (Item 540371) MCA, 1981 — Condition: Very Good
...

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

BB King

LA Midnight
ABC, 1972. Near Mint-
BB King brings in a sweet dose of jazz to his work – just a touch of the funkier backings that some of his electric contemporaries were getting at the time – maybe not as hard-wailing as some of the Chess funky blues records, but definitely somewhere in that direction! Players on the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Chess, 1960s. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold
A pretty nice little 2LP set – put together in the early 70s, and featuring material that Walter recorded for Chess during the 60s. As the title would imply, there's a lot of harmonica on the album – but Walter's vocals should also be given their due, as they're a bit more in the soul ... LP, Vinyl record album

Buddy Guy & Junior Wells

Drinkin' TNT 'N' Smokin' Dynamite
Blind Pig, 1974. Very Good
A smoking live performance from these two Chicago blues legends – recorded at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, but with a gritty electric vibe that's very much like the duo's best work back home! The approach is very stripped-down and unadorned – just vocals by both Guy and ... LP, Vinyl record album

Junior Wells

Junior Wells On Tap
Delmark, 1974. Near Mint-
Junior Wells was already a rising star when he cut this album for Delmark in the mid 70s – but the session's got a great back to basics vibe, one that's dedicated to Junior's home turf at Theresa's Tavern on the south side! The groove is great – with twin guitar work, by Sammy Lawhorn ... LP, Vinyl record album

Bo Diddley

His Greatest Sides
Chess, Late 50s. Near Mint-
Raw, ragged, rough, and ready – killer early work by Bo Diddley, clearly in a class by itself! The Bo Diddley groove isn't blues, isn't soul, and isn't R&B – it's instead a mad blend of rhythm, scratchy guitar, and spontaneously playful vocals that few other singers could ever hope ...
