Fireworks

LP (Item 53936) RCA, 1970 — Condition: Near Mint-
Gatefold
Classic work by Jose in the style he forged in LA at the end of the 60s – a mix of 60s pop and soul with that wonderful Latin style he used, the one that made his vocals and guitar cry slightly with the rhythms, taking conventional and familiar songs, and opening them up in a whole new way, with a depth that's quite unexpected! Titles include "Destiny", "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window", "Blackbird", "Once There Was A Love", "Susie Q", "Yesterday", and "Pegao".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Japanese pressing with obi! Inner gatefold and obi have aging.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Jose Feliciano

Jose Feliciano (1981)
Motown, 1981. Near Mint-
Although Motown wasn't necessarily the best place for an artist like Jose to be recording at the time, they actually did a pretty decent job of keeping the same sort of vibe that you'd hear on some of Jose's best work for RCA during the mid 70s. Titles include "Free My Freedom", "Ain ... LP, Vinyl record album

Feliciano!
RCA, 1968. Near Mint-
An amazing record! By all rights, this shouldn't be so good – but it's an incredible album of haunting tracks that really has us coming back again and again over the years. The formula is simple: Jose plays late 60s pop tunes on acoustic guitar, and sings them in his spacey soulful voice. ... LP, Vinyl record album

Harry Nilsson

Son Of Schmilsson
RCA, 1972. Near Mint- Gatefold
One of the wilder sets from Nillsson – careening from lovely piano pop with romantic vocals, to spaced out, good humored potty mouth excess – near honky tonk, to fuzzy pop rock – if you like Nilsson at his most unhinged, this is a great one! It's a stunner, actually – with ... LP, Vinyl record album

Mick Ronson's first and probably best solo album – '74's Slaughter On 10th Avenue – an adventurous set of glam pop that's both weird and catchy, naturally featuring some fantastic guitar pyrotechnics.
