Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Warner, 1993. Used
A really well-titled set from Frankie Beverly & Maze – as the album takes the group right back to the mellow-stepping sound that first made them great back in the 70s! Production's a bit more updated, but still very laidback – and there's a smoothly-grooving glow to the record we ... CD

Maze

Silky Soul
Warner, 1989. Used
Silky soul indeed from the great Frankie Beverly – a late 80s album, but one that has the smooth soul genius very much at the top of his game! Frankie's work from the 70s inspired countless imitators in the next decade – but after so many other male singers trying to cop his game, ... CD

Lakeside

Untouchables
Solar/Right Stuff, 1983. Used

Shalamar

Big Fun
Solar/Right Stuff (UK), 1979. Used
A definite bit of Big Fun from Shalamar – totally tight and very much at the top of their game – making the transition from disco modes to leaner 80s groove, thanks to lots of great production and songwriting help from Leon Sylvers! Sylvers was really emerging as one of the key forces ... CD
Philadelphia International/Right Stuff, 1980. Used
A killer album by MFSB – arguably one of their best! Gone are the string-heavy disco arrangements of earlier years, and in their place are some slick jazz funk grooves, mostly penned by Dexter Wansel, who produced a good bit of the album with a similar style to his best space funk records of ... Michael Henderson

In The Night Time
Buddah/Right Stuff, 1978. Used
Smooth mellow soul by Michael Henderson – taking up where he left off with his work with Norman Connors, and proving that he was an even better vocalist than guitarist. The overall sound of this one's perhaps a bit slicker than his first 2 albums on Buddah – but there's still some ... CD

Shalamar

Uptown Festival
Solar/Right Stuff, 1977. Used
The classic first album by Shalamar – that legendary trio that featured a young Jody Watley – all working under the leadership of Soul Train maestro Don Cornelius! Given Don's experience with the growth of 70s soul on his TV show, he's a perfect fit to give the younger singers guidance ... CD

Capitol/Universal (Japan), 1980. Used
