The Brand New Heavies are heavier than ever here – heard in a sweet set of club tracks and remixes from their big early 90s years on the US market – all with the sort of grooves that helped them cross over big at the time! The core, classic funk that the Brand New Heavies first brought into play was already totally great on its own – but possibly not the best fit for the grooves going down in the US scene – so the group and their label cooked up plenty of variations on all the best bits – cuts that changed up the rhythms, instrumentation, and even some of the vocal passages – all in really creative ways that always made Heavies singles well worth tracking down for the new mixes! This 2CD package features a disc of funk mixes, and a disc of house cuts – a hell of a lot of music, especially considering how rare most of this stuff was, even at the time. Titles include "Dream On Dreamer (Dallas Austin mix)", "Never Stop (Jan Kincaid voc)", "Stay This Way (Morales mix)", "People Get Ready (rmx)", "You Can Do It (colossal funk rmx)", "Sometimes (Diti's French touch)", "Midnight At The Oasis (up north mix)", "World Keeps Spinning (Spen-N-Jo's world mix)", "Shelter (Harvey's disco stomp)", "Dream Come True 92 (reality mix)", "Dream On Dreamer (T-empura club mix)", "You Are The Universe (Tuff Jam's 2 in 1 rmx)", "Sometimes (Notre Dame rmx)", "World Keeps Spinning (BHN puttin the funk back in it rmx)", "Mind Trips (superstar rmx)", "Spend Some Time (Marden Hill get smart mix)", "Brother Sister (stone one guitar inst)", "Back To Love (Heavies good time mix)", and "Shelter (Jan's big funk with Rodney P)".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

The first full album from 79.5 – a contemporary female soul group, but one with a very unique approach to their sound! The group's got three lead singers, but their style is different than some of the more poppy female trios out there – and, if anything, they seem to echo older sweet ... CD
