Real Sound Of Chicago – Underground Disco From The Windy City
LP (Item 530457) BBE (UK), Late 70s/Early 80s — Condition: Near Mint-
Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Hard-edged grooves from Soul Patrol Records – their umpteenth comp of this nature, and every bit as funky as the others! As before, most of the cuts here are from the funky 45 underground of the late 60s and early 70s – the kind of deep funk numbers that the overseas collector set was ... LP, Vinyl record album

An excellent selection of funky tunes that have been sampled for hip hop tracks! The set used to be called Pete's Treats – because all of these cuts were sampled by Pete Rock – but Pete got mad at that, so they've retitled the package. Still the same great sound, though – and ... An excellent set of dancefloor grooves from the 80s – the kind of a set that makes you realize how much great music was crucially overlooked at the time! Most of the artists on the set are bigger names from the Warner and Atlantic catalogs, but they're served up here with some lesser-known ... LP, Vinyl record album
The cream of modern jazz in Germany during the postwar years – the kind of amazing music that never made it over to our side of the Atlantic, but which was really marking some great jazz development on the European scene of the time! As Germany picked itself up from the ashes of the war, it ... LP, Vinyl record album
Spiritual sounds from the Cleveland scene of the 70s – a host of lesser-known acts who recorded for the BOS label at the time, but who could easily match the best strengths of the growing gospel mainstream! The music here relies heavily on secular soul styles of the time – bits of funk ... LP, Vinyl record album
Wonderful! Shawn Phillips started his career as a shaggy folk rocker with a bit of a jazzy twinge – but this album collects odd bits and pieces that were left off of earlier albums, and works perfectly as a record that shows a whole new side of his genius! The album shows Phillips as a ... LP, Vinyl record album
Pure genius from Curtis Mayfield – and a record that's got all the righteousness and political power you might guess from the cover! The album burns with a sense of empowerment that's every bit the best strength of Curtom in the 70s – a sublime blend of heavy soul, funky undercurrents, ... LP, Vinyl record album
A really great double-length set from James Brown – maybe slightly less iconic than some of his other classics from the early 70s, but a record that really shows the man stretching out and finding his groove! The whole thing is a great example of the new freedoms that Brown was experiencing ... LP, Vinyl record album
