Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

... CD
Columbia/Sony, 1939/1940/1945. Used
One of Frank Sinatra's earliest experiments with instrumental music – a set of tunes composed by Alec Wilder – including some handled by Wilder himself, with a group that includes Mitch Miller on oboe and Julius Baker on flute – in a cool modern chamber jazz mode! CD
Reprise/Capitol, 1950s/1960s. Used
Features the "Best" album, plus a CD of Sinatra In Concert 57! CD
Reprise, 1961/1966/1978/1982/1987. Used 4CD + DVD
A pretty great idea for a box set – one that brings together five shows spanning the years 1961 to 1987 recorded in that most quintessential Sinatra location – Las Vegas! Includes 4 shows on CD, a fifth show from 1978 on DVD, plus a 60 page booklet with photos, essays, and notes. CD
Capitol, 1960. Used
A Swingin Session indeed – as Frank steps out with Nelson Riddle on one of his last great albums for Capitol! The record's got the bounce and lilt of Frank's earlier gems with Riddle – a sly mix of jazz and strings that's every bit the best fit for Blue Eyes' vocals at the end of the ... CD

Frank Sinatra

Capitol Years (3CD set)
Capitol, 1950s/Early 60s. Used 3 CDs
A great batch of wonderful music – a well condensed 3 CD set that features some of Sinatra's best recorded during his Capitol tenure! As is well known, Sinatra's Capitol years were his finest – a time when he moved past a simple pop singer into a complicated vocalist with a sense of ... CD
Capitol, 1959. Used
Sinatra at his lonely best – as emphasized by the cover image, which has him sitting alone at a bar, looking sadly into his drink. The album's got backings by Gordon Jenkins, a bit more flowery than some of Nelson Riddle's, but in that sad dreamy mode that Sinatra worked with on the Wee ... CD
Capitol, 1950s. Used 2CD
Includes 40 tracks on 2 CDs. CD
Roulette/Capitol, 1962. Used
A bit different than some of Dinah Washington's other 60s work for Roulette – a set that's not entirely back to the blues promised in the title, but one that's definitely got a strong bluesy undercurrent! The backing's, by Fred Norman, aren't nearly as lush as on other Roulette sessions ... CD
