If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially

This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible.
When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the
lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves),
and the booklet to be in good shape.
Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or
defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs —
so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.
All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws.
If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine
that it plays correctly —
and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.
Even at this early point in their career, the Modern Jazz Quartet were plenty proud of their relation to and reception in Paris – almost rubbing their international fame in the faces of other American combos with the title and cover of this record! The set's still got the quartet at their ... CD
Tight swing-based material from trumpeter Joe Newman, featuring Frank Foster as a very welcome bandmate in the frontline! The rest of the group includes Tommy Flanagan on piano, plus Eddie Jones on bass and Bill English on drums. The tracks have a nice open-ended quality, with good room for ... CD
Live material recorded in France during the early 60s – when Thelonious Monk was working with his super genius stripped-down quartet that featured Charlie Rouse on tenor, John Ore on bass, and Frank Dunlop on drums! The tracks are a simple but elegant expression of Monk's ideals – laid ... CD
One of Charles Mingus' greatest albums from the early days – and a record that shows him making the shift into the groundbreaking style that would characterize his excellent work of the late 50s! The group features Mal Waldon on piano, George Barrow on tenor, Eddie Bert on trombone, and Max ... CD
Gene Ammons on tenor saxophone with Mal Waldron, Ed Thigpen, George Duvivier, Etta James, Arthur Taylor, Ray Barretto, Tommy Flanagan, Clark Terry, Oliver Nelson, Junior Mance, Buster Williams, Roland Hanna & others. CD
Charles Mingus caught live is a totally different experience from Mingus in the studio – as this crack album from 1964 will testify! The album features a stripped-down quartet that includes Clifford Jordan on tenor, Jane Getz on piano, and Dannie Richmond on drums – plus a guest ... CD
Everybody Digs Bill Evans – or at least it certainly seems that way from the cover endorsements by Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderley, and Ahmad Jamal – but the real proof is in the record, and the set is a great one from Bill's classic years on Riverside! Evans is at the peak of his ... CD
A seminal session from the team of Miles Davis & John Coltrane – not nearly as "cookin" (at least in a blowing session way) as you might guess from the title, but instead a beautiful example of the lyrically modern explorations the pair created together! Rhythm is by the trio ... CD
Very nice album by Jug that often gets overlooked because it's comprised of 2 different sessions, and can't get the "historical" writeup of being a single significant moment in the studio. Some tracks – including "Lascivious" and "Soft Winds" – are with a ... CD
2 great albums on 1 CD. A sweet set of ballads from vibist Milt Jackson that we dig as much for the silky smooth orchestrations by Quincy Jones as Milt's agile and crisp approach to the vibes. The strings and horns buoy the group nicely, which also features Connie Kay and under recorded guitarist ... CD
Arguably THE classic Cal Tjader album of the 60s – a landmark album that crossed over equally into Latin, jazz, and mainstream audiences – and a stone cooker that's filled with smoking little grooves! The set's probably best known for its title track "Soul Sauce" – one ... CD
Andrew Hill on piano, Scott Colley on bass, Nasheet Waits on drums, Aaron Stewart on tenor saxophone, John Savage on alto saxophone & flute, Marty Ehrlich on alto saxophone, flute, bass clarinet & clarinet, Greg Tardy on tenor saxophone on bass clarinet & clarinet, JD Parron on baritone ... CD
