If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially

This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible.
When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the
lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves),
and the booklet to be in good shape.
Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or
defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs —
so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.
All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws.
If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine
that it plays correctly —
and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.
Essential early material by Gal Costa! The record is her first after the immediate Tropicalia years, and it's a stunning blend of styles that seems to draw heavily from changes going on in the American rock scene at the time. The core of the music is still steeped in Brazilian elements – ... CD
One of Ivan Lins' first albums – and a landmark set of MPB! The record shows a lot of strands of influence from the Milton Nascimento, Lo Borges, and Minhas Geraes camp – and it shares much of the same sense of jazzy scoring with the work of those artists. But most important is Lins' ... CD
The second set of madness from the legendary Os Mutantes – and like the first, an album done in close collaboration with arranger/producer Rogerio Duprat, whose talents add a new level of genius to the record! The album's got a compelling mix of styles that strikes out on the very first tune ... CD
A stunning step forward for the great Elis Regina – and a landmark record that would set the stage for most of her final work to come in the 70s! The album's got less of the jazz or bossa inflections of her music from the 60s – and instead moves into this richly sophisticated style ... CD
Bebel Gilberto's certainly one to keep her public waiting in the space between each new record – but she always makes the wait worthwhile by coming up with something new! The sound here is again something different than her previous two albums – somewhat electric, but also fairly ... CD
A great set of contemporary jazz from Brazil, but one with a fair bit of classic touches as well! The setting's different than most other Brazilian jazz titles we've stocked – in that there's few samba or bossa influences, and instead a groove that's modeled more strongly after American soul ... CD
A contemporary album, but one with some of the same folksy touches as post-psychedelic Brazilian work from the 70s! Vocalist Marcelo Frota has a sound that's really wonderful – slightly earthy, but also a bit compressed as well – layered in between the acoustic guitars and slight ... CD
Easily some of the best work we've heard to come out of the hands of DJ Dolores – a series of remixes from the film Narradores De Jave, done in collaboration with the Instituto collective! As with other work by both artists, there's an extremely creative approach going on here – one ... CD
A delightful collision of music old and new – as acoustic Brazilian choro comes into play with more booty-styled beats – in a blend that's surprisingly great on the best numbers in the set! The style is one that might sound a bit hokey on paper, but it comes off well – never too ... CD
