Thick As A Brick

LP (Item 528315) Reprise, 1972 — Condition: Near Mint-
Gatefold
Also available
Jethro Tull — Thick As A Brick ... CD 2.99
Jethro Tull's classic prog album–or is it a parody of a prog album? The LP-length "song", filled with dense lyrics, alternates between hard rock, English folk, and classical.  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Tan label pressing in the fold-out newspaper cover, with light wear.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Benefit
Chrysalis/Reprise, 1970. Very Good+
An early gem from Jethro Tull – and a set that has the group really reaching forth with some of their more complicated, jazz-based musical impulses – while still holding onto some of the rawer power of the early days too! The album's lesser-known than some of the group's earlier hits ... LP, Vinyl record album

Burnt Weeny Sandwich
Bizarre/Reprise, 1970. Very Good Gatefold
A burnt weeny sandwich from Frank Zappa & The Mothers Of Invention – and a record that shows just how far they'd come in just a few short years! In a way, the record feels almost like a summation of all the best ideas that Frank had come up with in the studio – some serious musical ... LP, Vinyl record album

Captain Beefheart

Spotlight Kid
Reprise, 1972. Very Good+
An early 70s gem from Captain Beefheart – not as wild-eyed and whacked out as the late 60s glories – but still a good stretch weirder than most of the post psych, blues-steeped rock of the time! Ultimately, it's still Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band, despite it being billed ... LP, Vinyl record album
