CD (Item 526371) Collectables, Mid 60s — Condition: Used
$6.99 ...

Heavenly soul by one of the best voices to come out of the New York Uptown Soul scene of the 60s! Maxine's got an amazing style that never stops being soulful, yet which also reaches new levels of sophistication, not often heard in other 60s soul divas. This nicely priced collection features a dozen nice singles – including "If You Gotta Make A Fool Of Somebody", "Funny", "All In My Mind", "Ask Me", "Gotta Find A Way", and "Coming Back To You".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Out of print, punch through barcode & booklet.)

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Exciting Wilson Pickett
Atlantic/Collectables, 1966. Used
Always exciting work from the Wicked Pickett – a set that's filled with sharp-edged soul tracks throughout – and which perfectly shows why Wilson was a key link between funk and soul back in the 60s! The album was recorded at the two great hubs of southern soul production in the 60s ... CD

Some of Ted Taylor's best work for the Okeh label, including may of his classic R&B singles with a hard soul feel, and a great set. Great early soul stuff, tough to find on the original 45s. And just about as tough to get on an LP, too! 18 tracks in all, with titles that include "Don't ... CD

Great collection that appears to take the best of her hits for the Loma label, as well as the stuff she recorded for All Platinum. Hard southern soul sound, by a lady who's always been overlooked. 20 tracks in all, including "Hypnotized", "I Can't Stop Lovin' My Baby", "Gi ... CD

Funky heavy dubby funky grooves! This is the definitive compilation of one of the 70's quirkiest funk groups, the massive Cymande – a British group who brought together African rhythms, West Indian dub, and American funk! The CD brings together 17 tracks from their 3 LPs for the Janus label ... CD

Although Little Anthony first cracked into the world with his early doo wop and R&B recordings for the End label, we've always been partial to his beautifully produced albums for Veep from the mid 60s.
