Zabriskie Point

LP (Item 522164) MGM, 1970 — Condition: Near Mint-
Groundbreaking psychedelia and tripped out folk from Pink Floyd, The Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia, John Fahey, Roscoe Holcomb, Kaleidoscope, Patti Page and The Youngbloods – the soundtrack to Michelangelo Antonioni's counterculture portrayal Zabriske Point! Includes "Heart Beat, Pig Meat", "Crumbling Land" and "Come In Number 51" by Pink Floyd, "Mickey's Tune" by Kaliedoscope, "Tennessee Waltz" by Patti Page, "Excerpt From Dark Star" by Grateful Dead, "Dance Of Death" by John Fahey and more.  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Harley Hatcher

Soul Hustler
MGM, 1973. Near Mint-
Strange soundtrack to a weird early 70s film about a Jesus-peddler – with songs that are mostly in a folk-rock mode similar to some of the drippier tunes showing up on AIP soundtracks of a few years before. The best tunes are the instrumentals by Hatcher, which have kind of a biker bluesy ... LP, Vinyl record album

Henry Mancini

Gunn . . . Number One!
RCA, 1968. Very Good
Nice 60s crime jazz from Mancini! Although Mancini's fame was made in the late 50s for his work on the classic Peter Gunn TV show, it's less known that he also did the score for the less-than-successful Peter Gunn film. Directed in 1967 by Blake Edwards, the film was a weak attempt to transfer ... LP, Vinyl record album

A great Italian comedy score from the early 60s – put together in key transitional modes by composer Carlo Rustichelli! A fantastic early soundtrack from the great Pat Williams – cut around the same 60s stretch that he was doing his wonderful albums for Verve – in the years before he'd break bigger with TV work for The Bob Newhart Show and other 70s programs! 36 Hours
Vee Jay, Mid 60s. Sealed
A stark and jagged soundtrack for this mid 60s thriller that starred James Garner and Eva Marie Saint.
