Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Varese, 1958. Very Good+
A Sinbad movie, but one that's put together with a really rich soundtrack – possibly done with more care than the images on the screen for the film! Wild In The Streets
Tower, Late 60s. Very Good Gatefold
Hilarious! This is the soundtrack to a goofy late 60s shocker film about the time when hippies and young folks would take over America. An unusual period score by Ennio Morricone – and a record that turned out to be one of his most successful of the 70s! Obsession
London/Phase 4, 1976. Very Good+
Herrmann's back in fine form on this mid 70s score for a Brian DePalma thriller – lots of swirling orchestral themes, handled here with a good degree of space, which makes the stronger musical statements really pack a punch! Titles include "Court's Confession", "The ... LP, Vinyl record album
Prudence & The Pill
20th Century, 1968. Sealed
A strange little film from the late 60s – a brit comedy starring Deborah Kerr and David Niven, in kind of a tender and silly comedy about the early years of birth control. About half the soundtrack's kind of orchestral and romantic (surprisingly), but the other half is nice and groovy – ... LP, Vinyl record album
Music From Mr Lucky
RCA, 1959. Very Good
One of the greatest soundtracks ever from the early years of Henry Mancini – a hip jazzy TV score that we've loved for years! A great Italian comedy score from the early 60s – put together in key transitional modes by composer Carlo Rustichelli! A surprisingly nice score from Riddle – and pretty different than most late 50s crime jazz LPs!
