Paid In Full

LP (Item 5199) 4th & Broadway, 1987 — Condition: Good
Also available
Eric B & Rakim — Paid In Full (2LP version) ... LP 32.99
Paid In Full, indeed! Eric B & Rakim's seminal debut still pays off in so many ways, and it was such a vital link between the party rockin' style of the old school and the terse, hard-hitting beats and rhymes of the nascent school, we can't even come up with the words for the praise it's due. Essential would be an understatement, it's really part of the bedrock for some of the best hip hop to come, very little of which could match it! Includes the immortal "I Ain't No Joke", "Eric B Is In The Cut", "I Know You Got Soul", "Move The Crowd", "Paid in Full", "Chinese Arithmetic", and "Eric B. Is President".  © 1996-2023, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Good

  • A record that you'd buy to play, cheap, but which you wouldn't buy for collecting.
  • Will have marks across all parts of the playing surface, and will most likely play with surface noise throughout. May have some other significant flaws, such as residue, or a track that skips.
  • In most cases, a poor quality copy of a very difficult to find record.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A crossover classic from the late Nipsey Hussle – the kind of record that should have marked the beginning of a big new wave of fame, had he not been taken from us all too soon! There's a nicely crispy vibe here – both in the compact production, which never sounds too stripped-down, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Lonesome Traveler

An excellent example of the massive groove that Ray Bryant set up during his 60s years at Cadet – a simple soul jazz trio style, but augmented with dual horn backing – which makes for a tightly stepping sound that's all-soulful, all the way!
