Hot Together

LP (Item 519222) RCA, 1986 — Condition: Near Mint-
Titles include "My Life", "Mercury Rising", "Goldmine", "All I Know Is The Way I Feel", "Say The Word", "Hot Together", "Sexual Power", "Set Me Free", "Taste", and "Eyes Don't Lie".  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Includes the printed inner sleeve.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Condition Notes

If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially if it is release or pressing details, or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Pointer Sisters

Break Out
Planet, 1983. Near Mint-
The album's no breakout for the Pointer Sisters, as the trio were already at the top of the charts when the set was released – but the whole thing does find a great way to keep the grooves coming in the group's lasting relationship with producer Richard Perry! There's plenty of 80s elements ... LP, Vinyl record album

Sam Cooke

Night Beat
RCA, 1963. Sealed Gatefold
Wonderful mellow work from Sam Cooke – and a set that's recorded with a sound that's very much in keeping with the "night beat" that you might expect from the title! In fact, there's not so much a "beat" as a simple easy groove – a gentle sort of "night" ... LP, Vinyl record album

Diana Ross

Ross (RCA)
RCA, 1983. Near Mint-
One of the most well-crafted Diana Ross records of the 80s – thanks to heavy production work from Gary Katz, who's best known for his classic run with Steely Dan! The music has a depth that goes past some of the more crossover modes of Diana's earlier records – warmer touches of jazz ... LP, Vinyl record album

Jimmy Castor Bunch

It's Just Begun
RCA, 1972. Near Mint-
Wickedly fuzzy funk! Jimmy Castor recorded in a lot of different styles during the 70s – but the one he used on this album is still his best – and the album may well be his lasting testament of funky genius! The record's a non-stop guitar-heavy batch of classic funk tracks – and ... LP, Vinyl record album

Wilson Pickett

Mr Magic Man
RCA, 1973. Very Good+ Gatefold
A really great post-Atlantic album from Wilson – one recorded with deep soul production from Dave Crawford and Brad Shapiro, both of whom are working at the height of their best early powers! The feel is much deeper, in fact, than some of Pickett's later, waning work for Atlantic – ... LP, Vinyl record album

Jesse Belvin

Yesterdays
RCA, Late 50s. Very Good+
(70s pressing. Cover has a cutout notch, light wear, and track notes in pen.) LP, Vinyl record album

Brook Benton

That Old Feeling
RCA, 1966. Very Good+
A mid 60s gem from Brook Benton, produced by Clyde Otis, done in wonderful, more stripped down style than some of his other efforts of the time. Titles include "My Darling My Darling", "Try A Little Tenderness", "Moon River", "The Second Time Around", and ... LP, Vinyl record album
Curtom, 1978. Sealed
The standout classic from Curtom disco diva Linda Clifford – and an album that showed that Chicago could rival Philly in the clubby groove department! Linda has a proud presence that really matches that of her better-known sisters in the City Of Brotherly Love – and she's singing here ... LP, Vinyl record album

Young Rascals

Groovin'
Atlantic, 1967. Sealed
Possibly the biggest album ever by The Rascals – a wonderfully tight batch of tunes that has the group hitting perfectly on all their best fronts! Blue eyed soul mixes wonderfully with some rougher garage-styled rock – and the execution here is perfect enough to please listeners on ... LP, Vinyl record album

Jon Lucien

Song For My Lady
Columbia, 1975. Near Mint-
Excellent jazzy soul stuff by one of our favorite singers of all time! Jon's in wonderful form here – working in arrangements that are a bit smoother and more modern soul oriented than his earlier work for RCA, but handled in such a way that they only bring out more richness in his ... LP, Vinyl record album

Esther Marrow

Sister Woman
Fantasy, 1972. Near Mint-
Very righteous work from Esther Marrow – an overlooked soul singer who works with a hell of a lot of pride and power! The set's an overlooked gem in the Fantasy catalog of the 70s, and it's one of only two secular soul albums cut by Marrow – and quite possibly the best of the bunch, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Jerry Butler & Brenda Lee Eager

Love We Have
Mercury, 1973. Near Mint- Gatefold
Duets between Jerry Butler and Brenda Lee Eager – done as serious, adult oriented soul tracks, one side of the album in an optimistic "The Love We Have" setting, the other in a sadder "The Love We Had" setting – both of them handled in a mode that's far far different ... LP, Vinyl record album
