(Mid 70s EU That's Jazz series pressing the foil cover, with light surface wear.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A massive batch of funky soul jazz – the Second Movement (to the first album Swiss Movement) of the collaboration of Eddie Harris and Les McCann! Eddie Harris

Live At Newport
Atlantic, 1971. Very Good+
Very cool sounds from the amazing Eddie Harris – a live set, cut at the popular Newport Jazz Festival – but one that's arguably even freakier and more freewheeling than some of Eddie's studio work for Atlantic! Eddie's horn is really plugged in for the set – a Varitone, which is ... LP, Vinyl record album

Jazz & Romantic Places

Jazz in romantic places, but some pretty groovy ones too – a host of global destinations all referenced in the track selection for the set! Yusef Lateef

Complete Yusef Lateef
Atlantic, 1968. Very Good+
A soulful late 60s outing for Brother Yusef – one of his first, and one of his best, albums for Atlantic! Despite the misleading title, this isn't really the "complete" Yusef Lateef (it would have to be a 50 LP set for that!) – but the record is a nice slice of Yusef's ... LP, Vinyl record album

Les McCann

Talk To The People
Atlantic, 1972. Very Good+
One of the best of Les McCann's 70s Atlantic recordings, and one that captures him with a lot of fire and funkiness – and none of the looser modes of other recordings from the time! Les sings on about half the cuts – but the focus is still quite strongly on his funky jazz, which makes ... LP, Vinyl record album
