My One & Only Love

LP (Item 515883) Tico, Early 60s — Condition: Very Good

(Black label stereo pressing, with deep groove. Cover has split seams, with aged tape on the spine and top seam.)

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Pete and his hot little 60s Latin combo play versions of older Latin tunes – but bring them up to date nicely in a style that's got a nice touch of jazz. Manny Roman sings vocals – and titles include "La Mucura", "El Jamaiquino", "Que Rico El Mambo", " ... LP, Vinyl record album

Compilation of classic early stuff by Machito, back when Mario Bauza was playing trumpet, and acting as his music director. The Soul of Spanish Harlem – and the upbeat sound of the Joe Cuba Sextet – a hard-to-find album recorded just before the dawn of the classic Latin soul era! Tico, 1968. Very Good
Two sides of La Lupe – one relaxed, the other a bit more formal – both presented in an album that's sort of half Latin Soul and half boleros – but with some other elements thrown in for good measure too! Side one is our favorite – as it's got Lupe picking up some of the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Charanga Moderna
Tico, 1962. Very Good+
Stellar Latin grooves! This album is one of Ray's best from the early 60s, and it's an incredible batch of edgey tracks that far outshines most of his other work from the time! For the record, Ray took the standard Charanga format, and updated it by adding sweet jazzy touches, pushing the ... LP, Vinyl record album
