This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
A great straight set from Chick Corea – one that has him playing acoustic piano throughout, and reclaiming some of the bolder jazz territory he first forged in the 60s! The tracks are long and soaring – very soulful in their construction, and played in a dynamic way that's surprisingly ... LP, Vinyl record album
Given that Chick Corea first got his start working in the New York Latin scene back in the 60s, the album's a bit of a return to his roots – even if the general theme here is Spanish, and not Afro-Cuban! The Corea Spanish Heart here is cast in some darker, more contemplative tones than more ... LP, Vinyl record album
The Oregon sound, still alive and well into the 80s – perhaps given even more room to express itself in an ECM setting like this! The album's a mix of angular notes and warmer tones – very much the experimentalism that the group prided itself on at the time – and which really set ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the excellent DeJohnette albums cut for ECM in the mid 70s. He's playing here with John Abercrombie, Alex Foster, Mike Richmond and Warren Bernhardt in an electric setting, and the vibe has the sort of wide open feel that a lot of progressive players were exploring at the time: a sort of ... LP, Vinyl record album
Mike Nock has always been a pianist with so many varied shades and styles to his talents – and here, he makes a rare ECM appearance in a set that's nicely different from most of his other albums of the 70s – maybe a bit more sensitive at times, but also maybe more freewheeling too ... One of the crowning moments of Keith Jarrett's longform improvised style of the 70s – a huge batch of concert material recorded in Japan – done in a style that's similar to his famous Koln and Berlin concert records! This promo features excerpts from different performances in Osaka, ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the last great recordings of Steve Kuhn's vocal songs – done live at Fat Tuesday's with Sheila Jordan singing with Kuhn's trio! The sound here takes us back to classic 70s sets by Monica Zetterlund and Karin Krog that feature Kuhn's lyrics – wonderfully-crafted words that were ... LP, Vinyl record album
Nice late 70s work from guitarist Ralph Towner – heard here in a great trio setting with Eddie Gomez on bass and Jack DeJohnette on drums! Both players have an ear tuned well to the sorts of open, exploratory styles that suit Towner best – but they also have a nice sense of force as ... LP, Vinyl record album
Genius work from the team of Chick Corea on piano and Gary Burton on vibes – both players who were already making a lot of magic in the 70s, but who really seem to explode in the company of each other! Burton's tones are wonderfully bold and firm – these cascading colors that merge ... LP, Vinyl record album
Groovy trio set, with a organ/guitar/drums lineup playing through a batch of soul hits like "Uptight" and "Wade in the Water", plus "Wee Dot", and a few pop hits. More groovy organ lines from Patterson, who's the main star here, and a surprisingly nice version of ... LP, Vinyl record album
