Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

John Abercrombie

Night
ECM (Germany), 1983. Used
The airy tones of guitarist John Abercrombie find a bit of a different setting here – a slight change from some of his earlier ECM albums, but still with a relatively open vibe overall! Jan Hammer's in the group on keyboards, but sounds thankfully very different than his Miami Vice fame ... CD

Enrico Rava

Easy Living
ECM (Germany), 2004. Used
A nicely mature album from trumpeter Enrico Rava – one that really explores the space between the notes, and which has Rava in the company of a very well-matched quintet! Enrico always had a sense of "less is more" in his horn, right from the start – but that quality only ... CD

Gary Burton

Ring
ECM (Germany), 1974. Used
One of Gary Burton's more free-flowing albums of the 70s – a bit more fusion than some of his other work of the time, with key guitar contributions from Mick Goodrick and a young Pat Metheney! The album's still filled with plenty of Burton's great work on vibes, but the guitars also soar ... CD

Billy Hart/Ethan Iverson/Mark Turner/Ben Street

All Our Reasons
ECM (Germany), 2012. Used
A great record from a great group – a quartet led by drummer Billy Hart, but which features a very equal constellation of sounds from Mark Turner on tenor, Ethan Iverson on piano, and Ben Street on bass! There's a soulful, spiritual beginning to the record that's mighty nice – one of ... CD

Larry Grenadier

Gleaners
ECM (Germany), 2019. Used
Beautiful solo bass work from Larry Grenadier – a record that fits perfectly in the best ECM tradition, yet also provides a stunning showcase for the artist as well! The recording quality is superb – and Grenadier finds so many ways to create different shades and tones with his ... CD

Return To Forever
ECM (Germany), 1972. Used
One of Chick Corea's greatest moments on record – the self-titled album by the legendary Return To Forever group – a combo that included Joe Farrell on saxes, Flora Purim on vocals, Airto on percussion, and Stanley Clarke on bass! The sound is archetypal 70s fusion at its best – ... CD
